This mural was commissioned by Cork County Council in association with Millstreet Tidy Towns. The location was an unpainted wall opposite the main square. The image is a painting of an archival photograph taken by Robert French in the late 19th early 20th century of the main street. The viewer is standing in the same position that the photograph was taken from giving a view of the changes in the town over time. It is painted as if it were mounted in an old photographic album using corner tabs to hold the picture in place.
